GASKETS
All VIMATHERM plates, in their original version, include gaskets which
have leakage indicators to prevent any mixing of primary and secondary
fluids without prior detection.
In case a gasket is accidentally torn, if this occurs on the external
part, there is automatically an outward leak. If this occurs on the
internal part, the leakage grooves are designed so as the leakage can
be detected on the outside.
PLATES
With a regular recovery system on a heat exchanger, if a plate is
pierced through, a mixing occurs between the primary fluid and the
secondary fluid. Two systems can be offered for a better safety and to
reveal defective plates:
- A booster pump can be added at the end of the rising
recovery to maintain a higher pressure on the way back on the
descending recovery.
- System with an intermediary loop with a lower
pressure to avoid that water from the loop goes into the process
product.
